Senior People Partner (12-month FTC)

We are excited to share that we’re now looking for a senior people partner to join our team on a maternity cover basis.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the advice and guidance that our team provides to all our people and leaders to help us make a positive difference to the people working at Nucleus.  You’ll do this through leading and coaching the people adviser and people coordinator within the team, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to deliver a first class people experience across the business. This is HR but not as you may know it, we think HR should stand for human resourceful not human restrictive and align our people strategy to this philosophy.  We like to think of our team as architects and anthropologists, working together to provide human solutions to business problems.

Partnership with the business is at the core of this role. You’ll actively partner with our senior leaders and will make it your purpose to understand their teams and their business plans.  You’ll work collaboratively with them to ensure they have the right organisational design and structure in place to support their plans and delivery objectives.

You’ll also be involved in transformational people projects, taking the lead in designing aspects of our people proposition, ensuring you design this with our people aligned to the company strategy and vision.

A bit about you

Your friends would probably describe you as a bit of a plate-spinner – someone who thrives on managing multiple things at once and doing it at pace. You’ll love to spend time with people, supporting them, and often challenging their thinking. You’ll be naturally ambitious and curious about how things can be done differently and won’t settle for a mediocre outcome.  You’ll easily be able to switch between the big picture and the detail, rolling your sleeves up where needed, but equally at ease when leading, planning and delivering larger scale projects too.

No two days are the same at Nucleus and we are always ready to embrace new challenges and ambiguity with open arms. Here are some of the things you might find yourself involved in:

  • coaching senior leaders, supporting them to effectively implement people plans and actions
  • effectively developing our organisational and job design, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles at the right time
  • influencing our senior leaders on a wide variety of people solutions, using meaningful people data and insights to support the bigger picture
  • designing and developing companywide people initiatives aligned to the Nucleus vision and values
  • being the point of escalation for complex people related issues

At Nucleus we always place more importance on values alignment above technical ability, although the following would be great if you had them:

  • experience working in a generalist HR role where you’ve partnered with the business
  • capability and skills to influence, coach and negotiate with candour
  • exceptional organisational ability and a knack for delivering at pace
  • understanding and appreciation of the people challenges that exist within a high-growth organisation
  • experience of leading a team and coaching others to help them succeed
